The Occupational Safety Board of Bangladesh (OSBB) is one of four corporate bodies under the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB), formed to render advisory and support services to industries, organisations, and stakeholders — minimising occupational accidents and driving productivity growth across the country.

BCIC requests National Safety Council

The first formal appeal to the Ministry of Industry — planting the seed for a national safety framework.

1996

Draft Industrial Safety Policy

A 15-member Industrial Safety Committee formulates and submits the draft policy to the Secretary, Ministry of Industry.

1998

Inter-ministerial revision

Policy refined through two inter-ministerial meetings — bringing MoLE into the leadership fold.

2003

OSBB formally established under IEB
